Our roof systems are an intricate balance of strength and grace. Logcrafters' roof systems are offered in two options: a standard ridge beam and rafter system, or a more traditional principal rafter and purlin system. The standard ridge beam and rafter system has open-beam rafters, a massive ridge beam and supporting columns, and is applicable where floor plans have a loft that requires head clearance. The principal rafter and purlin system has a series of larger rafter beams at wider spans. Utilizing a tie beam, dovetailed into the rafter truss system, this style creates a truss system. Purlins are mortised into these rafters along the rake of the roof to compliment the open beam roof of you home. With either style, Logcrafters can handcraft a graceful King Post or Hammer Truss beam to complement the magnificence of your home.
